Marriage is the celebration of a sacrament. The Diocese norm requires the couple to contact the priest or deacon at least four months prior to the wedding. The bride or groom must be registered in our parish. Couples from another parish, must have permission of their pastor to begin preparation work. The couple must meet with the priest and/or the pastoral minister, take the Prepare-Enrich marriage inventory, complete NFP and Theology of the Body classes , and attend an Engaged Encounter Weekend. All of these requirements are designed to help the couple in a prayerful preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage.
“The vocation to marriage is written in the very nature of man and woman as they came from the hand of the Creator. Marriage is not a purely human institution despite the many variation it may have undergone through the centuries in different cultures, social structures and spiritual attitudes." Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 1603
