The Annual Survey of Fraternal Activity testifies to what the Knights of Columbus, from the international to local levels, accomplished in 2011. The numbers are dramatic and provide a global portrait of the Knights of Columbus that is far beyond the view from your local council. All those individual council activities really add up! Here's a quick look at 2011.
Knights of Columbus Walk the Walk
One of the core values promoted by the Knights of Columbus is to protect life. That value received special emphasis Saturday May 8th. Sacred Heart Council #2955 in Dodge City sponsored a Mother Daughter Pro Life Forum at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Open to women in the Diocese, over 100 mothers and daughter participated in sessions designed for high school and junior high ladies. All four corners of the diocese were represented including, Kiowa, Lakin, LaCrosse, Satanta, Dodge City and Garden City. A variety of speakers presented topics such as:
The Knights of Council #2955 are honored to offer this forum and are grateful so many women participated. We also extend our gratitude to Steve and Becky Hessman, Joe and Becky Gleason for all their effort to organize the event. In addition, a hearty thank you to Linda Ackerman who prepared the meal and the Daughters of Isabella who served it.
The new prolife sign west of Howell on the north side of the road is finished!
You probably noticed the previous sign west of Howell was in pretty bad repair. Thanks to Steve's Welding and Denis Burkhart, a new sign made of metal is ready to spread the life message. Take a drive and see how the Knights make public our shared belief in the sanctity of all human life.
