On September 1, 2010, 18 families enjoyed Pizza and learned about Title 1 services provided by Sacred Heart Cathedral School.  Mrs. Martin started the meeting with a prayer and then explained briefly what the Title 1 program is and how it will be used this year.  She also advised how the students were assigned to the Title 1 program and how she would provide services to these students.

Those parents that did not attend this meeting will be receiving a packet which includes the Parent Handbook and the Parent/Student/Teacher Compact that needs to be signed by both the parent and the student and returned. 

Mrs. Martin then showed the attendees a game that could be played with children.  This is what the Fun Night is all about; learning to help children in fun ways.

Before the meeting was finished, door prizes were awarded.  The winners were:  Priscilla Rodriguez, Karime Romo, and Andrew Marin - Congratulations to these winners.

The next Family Fun Night will be November 3, 2010, 5:30 p.m., Pizza will be served and the games will begin.  Come join the fun.

Welcome to a great new school year at Sacred Heart Cathedral.  New things are happening in the Title I area.  First, don't forget to bring back your papers showing how much time you have spent on Study Island.  The party for those achieving their goal will be in September.  There will be an invitation going home to those students who qualify.  Because the students will be shown in a different grade, the ending date is August 20, 2010 to qualify for this party.  I will be changing grade levels on Study Island on August 23, 2010.

Second, please stop by the Title I Resourse room on the second floor and check out the new games, forlders, and helpful items for home use. 

Third, there is a Family Fun Night scheduled for Sept. 1, 2010 from 5:30 - 6:30.  This night the Title I program will be explained and the handbook will be handed out.  There will also be time for questions.  This night is designed for any parent that has a child at SHCS and would like to enrich learning at home.  Because this may fall during evening meal time, there will be Pizza provided along with water or tea.  Please plan to attend the Family Fun Night.

If you are not able to attend the Sept. 1, 2010 Fun Night, please stop by the Title I Resource Room any time duriing school hours.  Don't forget to check in at the office first and the office staff will be able to find me.
