We will have a lot of fun in December; St. Nicholas usually makes a visit if we put our shoes out, we will do some Gingerbread Man activities (we usually have to go find him too!), and lots of fun Christmas activities; not forgetting the true meaning of Christmas.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday season with your family!

Hello Parents, Students, and Visitors! Welcome to our Kindergarten page! I can not believe we just about have one full quarter of our school year done! Time flies when you are having fun! We are busy making sure we can master our letters, sounds, and writing them as well. We are working on our reading and writing our numbers 1-10 and also understanding the number sequence. We are learning new sight words every week and bringing home our little reader books so you can listen to us read! We have officially learned the colors red, yellow, blue, and green. Next, we will be working on orange and black! *Good Halloween & Fall time colors! I am so proud of how much this class is learning!
As most of you know, reading is very important to me and it is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING you can do with your child. You can read aloud to them even when they begin reading. Trade off and take turns; I read to you then, you read to me. I never send any major homework home. Just read, read, read, every night if possible! Why?
Hoping your fall time is fantastic!
Mrs. Melia :)
Welcome to Kindergarten! We are having a super fun time in Kindergarten so far! We are all working very hard to learn how to be good listeners, how to write our ABCs and sing fun songs together.
On the second week of school, we have started working on all areas of our Kindergarten curriculum; Calendar Skills, Reading & Phonics, Writing, Math, Religion, and Center work. We are busy little bees!
What can you do to help your student be successful? Please read to your child every night. You can always go to the Public Library to check out books! I will also send home our first Book Order soon! They offer a lot of good books at fairly cheep prices (some even .99) If you read to your child they will learn more vocabulary and plus it is a great bonding opportunity between you and your child! Read a story together, say your bedtime prayers, and give a hug goodnight. What a wonderful way to end your day!
Thank you for all of your help and support already this school year!
