There is a Catholic School's Week Schedule up (this has been edited to show events that effect first grade) on my web page for parents to refer to. Catholic Schools Week is held on the last week of January.

 Hello! Well, we are finally finished with our Start Smart series and getting ready to start Unit 1 in our Reading series-Treasures. This is also the time we are starting to work on Grammar and Spelling. Our first spelling test will be this week. As mentioned under the Kids Spell web link, I have decided to put up the spelling lists onto that website and that will allow you to view the words and play games with those words to help practice them. The first spelling list is located under the links tab and you will have to scroll down until you find Spelling List 1. Click on that link and that will take you to that website automatically. My hope is that this will make studying more enjoyable for your child. I will try and do this every week so keep a lookout for the next one! Thanks!

¡ Hola! Bueno, estamos finalmente terminados con nuestra serie de iniciar Smart y preparándose iniciar 1 unidad en nuestras serie de lectura-tesoros. También es el momento que estamos empezando a trabajar en la gramática y la ortografía. Esta semana tendremos nuestra primera prueba de ortografía. I have the first Homework Assignment sheet up on My Documents. I hope that everyone's computer is able to view it. When I tried the link it opened it with Picasa 3, but I don't know if that's the only program that can view it or not. Thanks!

Parents: I uploaded the Rainbow Words homework sheet just in case you lose your copy. I will write the spelling words in their agendas and also send a list home with your Rainbow Words. The first spelling test will be in a couple of weeks. We have 3 weeks of our Start Smart series and then we start having our spelling tests.
