Parents:

This is just to remind you that spelling lists, rainbow words, and spelling list games are available on my webpage under the documents and links section. If your child wants to have a fun way to study their spelling words all they have to do is go to my links page and scroll down to the very last web link which should be titled Spelling List and whatever list number we are on. Ex: Spelling List 14 for this week.The words from the sentences are also included now. This link will take you to the Kids Spell website and you will see a list of that week's words only on there. Beside the list is 3 or 4 games that your child can choose from to help practice on while having fun. All you have to do is click on one of the games and enjoy!

There is a Catholic School's Week Schedule up (this has been edited to show events that effect first grade) on my web page for parents to refer to. Catholic Schools Week is held on the last week of January.

Parents:

We are getting to the point now that first grade will now start doing mass parts. Usually I will send a paper home for your child to practice at least one week in advance. I usually cannot fit the whole class into one mass so your child may have a part on one mass day and maybe not the next or vice versa. Please have your child practice these when they come home. Our first mass is January 12th and the next will be on January 26th. We welcome parents or family of any kind to come and sit with your child during these times (of course, you are welcome at any other mass day also). If you do plan to attend please inform me or have your child let me know so I can plan seating accordingly. Thanks!

 Hello! Well, we are finally finished with our Start Smart series and getting ready to start Unit 1 in our Reading series-Treasures. This is also the time we are starting to work on Grammar and Spelling. Our first spelling test will be this week. As mentioned under the Kids Spell web link, I have decided to put up the spelling lists onto that website and that will allow you to view the words and play games with those words to help practice them. The first spelling list is located under the links tab and you will have to scroll down until you find Spelling List 1. Click on that link and that will take you to that website automatically. My hope is that this will make studying more enjoyable for your child. I will try and do this every week so keep a lookout for the next one! Thanks!

¡ Hola! Bueno, estamos finalmente terminados con nuestra serie de iniciar Smart y preparándose iniciar 1 unidad en nuestras serie de lectura-tesoros. También es el momento que estamos empezando a trabajar en la gramática y la ortografía. Esta semana tendremos nuestra primera prueba de ortografía. Como se mencionó en el vínculo web Kids hechizo, he decidido poner las listas de ortografía en ese sitio Web y que le permitirá ver las palabras y jugar con las palabras para ayudar a practicarlas. La primera lista de ortografía se encuentra bajo la ficha vínculos y tendrá que desplazarse hacia abajo hasta que encuentre ortografía lista 1. I have the first Homework Assignment sheet up on My Documents. I hope that everyone's computer is able to view it. When I tried the link it opened it with Picasa 3, but I don't know if that's the only program that can view it or not. Thanks!

Parents: I uploaded the Rainbow Words homework sheet just in case you lose your copy. I will write the spelling words in their agendas and also send a list home with your Rainbow Words. The first spelling test will be in a couple of weeks. We have 3 weeks of our Start Smart series and then we start having our spelling tests.
