Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic School is pleased to announce Lynee Habiger of Kinsley, KS. as principal beginning July 1, 2015.

Habiger presently serves as Assistant Principal, ESL Program Director, and At-Risk Program Director at Kinsley Jr./Sr. High School.   Lynee and her husband, Jim, are members of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Kinsley.

Habiger received her Elementary Education degree from St. Mary of the Plains College, Dodge City, KS.  She earned her master’s degree in English as a Second Language at Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS.   She then received her Building Leadership Licensure through Newman University, Wichita, KS.

"It is truly an honor to be selected as the new principal. I look forward to meeting teachers, staff members, parents, and most of all Sacred Heart Catholic School students.  I am grateful to become part of this well-established faith and learning community." said Habiger.

"As Sacred Heart prepares to enter its second century of forming disciples of Jesus Christ, Lynee provides a solid background of academic and administrative experience. The intersection of her deep Catholic Faith and her educational expertise is a great blessing for us and, indeed, for all of Dodge City." said Father Wesley Schawe, Pastor of Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic School has preK-8th grades devoted to traditional learning and developing the whole child — body, mind, and soul. The mission of Sacred Heart is to unite with the family to teach, govern, and sanctify the minds and hearts of young people through a rigorous and interactive education in the liberal arts and sciences, with instruction in the principles and practice of Christian moral character.

Sacred Heart welcomes children of all cultures and faith backgrounds.

Sacred Heart's mission is to teach, govern and sanctify the whole child - mind, body and soul. It is also our firm belief that parents are the first teachers of their children. To that end, parents must have a basic understanding of what their children are learning in school. Check out the Sacred Heart Curriculum Outline to see what each grade learns. We hope this tool allows parents and school to work together closely in bringing out the great potential that God has placed in each child.
